About Our Agency
Founded in 1991 by Robert Pruitt, Pruitt Insurance Agency was the area's source for insurance. Just seven years later, Ginger Sellers established Sellers Insurance Agency. In April of 2012, the two agencies merged to combine their services and provide clients with more options at competitive rates.
Ginger Sellers – Owner/Agent
Ginger was born and raised in the local community, graduating from Danville Christian Schools and Averett College in 1988. She began her career in insurance claims just after graduating from college in 1998, and worked in the claims industry for more than 10 years. During that time, Ginger gained her AIC designation in claims.
In September 1998, Ginger became appointed with Erie Insurance Group™ and opened her own agency, Sellers Insurance Agency, Inc. In 2012, Ginger and Sellers Insurance Agency merged with Pruitt Insurance Agency. After Pete's untimely death in December 2012, Ginger purchased the entire agency in January, 2014, and has continued to provide superior insurance services. Ginger is licensed to serve your needs in Virginia and North Carolina.
Outside of Insurance
Outside of the agency, Ginger is actively involved in the community and charities. In fact, she is involved in sports programs through Chatham Youth League and Danville Parks and Recreation, and is extremely active with her church and family.

Judy Barham – Personal Lines Customer Service Representative
Judy joined the staff June 2013; however, she had worked previously with Ginger at Sellers Insurance Agency for eight years. Judy is licensed in Virginia and North Carolina, and she specializes in property and casualty insurance and life and health insurance. She has been helping customers in Danville, Pittsylvania County, and North Carolina for more than 10 years, and she looks forward to helping you!
Gypsy Phelps – Commercial Lines Customer Service Representative
Gypsy has worked in the insurance industry for the past 37 years. She retired from Bankers Insurance Agency in July of 2014. She joined the staff of Sellers Insurance Agency part time in August of 2014.
Sheila Whitney-Paul – Personal Lines Customer Service Representative
Sheila joined the staff of Pruitt Insurance Agency in September 2008. She is licensed in Property & Casualty and Life & Health. She has been serving customers in the Danville and Pittsylvania county area for the past 13 years. She is licensed in both Virginia and North Carolina.
Cyril Anne Sellers – Life & Health Producer
Cyril joined Sellers Insurance Agency in
January 2016, after spending many years in the sales field and owning her own
business. She is a graduate of Danville Community College and Radford
University with a degree in Marketing. Cyril’s main focus here in the agency is
helping customers find the right health insurance and life insurance plans to
suit their needs.
Susan Phelps – Life & Health Agent
Susan is from Eden, North Carolina and has been a Virginia resident since 1995. She married and raised her 2 children in Ringgold. She worked previously in the operating room at Danville Regional Medical Center for the past 18 years. She is the newest member of our team and just joined us in 2022 and she is excited to start her new career. She is licensed in life and health and would love to work with you for your life and health insurance needs.
